Vaccum Pump

A vacuum pump is a type of pump device that draws gas particles from a sealed volume in order to leave behind a partial vacuum. The first vacuum pump was invented in 1650 by Otto von Guericke, and was preceded by the suction pump, which dates to antiquity. The Roots blower is one example of a vacuum pump. Vacuum pumps are used to remove air and other wet gas and vapor particles from a system. Without a vacuum pump, these particles can cause a system to run inefficiently and can even corrode internal parts. Generally, the purpose of a vacuum pump is to clean and seal an area from the air or other gasses.
